1. Given the dierential equation dy dx = p y 2 − 9
(a) Use the theorem on the existence of a unique solution for an IVP (theorem 1.2.1 in the book; also given on my last lecture slide from section 1.2) to determine whether this DE has a unique solution given the initial condition y (1) = 4.
(b) Use the same theorem to determine whether this DE has a unique solution given the initial condition y (5) = 3.
