The population of Burbville is currently 12,500 people. One researcher, Adam, predicts that Burbville’s population will grow by 2% per year. Another, Marcia, predicts that the population will grow by 600 people per year. (For the following problems, use tools, such as Desmos, as you see fit)

Whose prediction - Adam or Marcia - results in a larger population 7 years from now? Justify your response.

Between these two predictions - Adam’s and Marcia’s - will one of them always predict a higher population? Or will the one predicting a higher population switch at some point? Explain.

Suppose that 50 years from now, the population of Burbville is 35,400. Neither Adam nor Marcia’s model predicts this exactly, but one gets closer. Whose? Justify your response.

Recall that Marcia’s model predicts a growth of 600 people per year. Adjust Marcia’s model with the assumption that in 50 years, Burbville’s population is 35,400. Show your work.
