Set Both Equations Equal to each other:

Type A = Type B

11y + 48 = 15y + 36

Solve For Y:

11y + 12 = 15y

-4y + 12 = 0

-4y = -12

Y = 3 years

It will take 3 years for the trees to be the same height.
