First shape :

i. Area if rectangle in the fig. = l*b

= 12*4

= 48 cm^2

Now, in the same fig. we construct a line and make it a square,

ii. Area of square = s*s

= 7*7

= 49 cm^2

Area of whole shape = 48cm^2 + 49cm^2

= 97 cm^2

Second Shape :

i. Area of the rectangular shape(above one)

= l*b

= 29*14

= 406 cm^2

ii. Area of the rectangle (stick like shape)

= l*b

= 20*(29-24)

= 20*5

= 100 cm^2

Area of whole shape = (100 + 406) cm^2

= 506 cm^2

Third shape :

i. Area of the triangle = 1/2 *b* h

= 1/2 * 13 * 6

= 39 cm^2

ii. Area of the square = s*s

= 13*8

= 104 cm^2

Area of whole shape = (104 + 39) cm^2

= 143 cm^2
