TRY IT: Identifying Proportional Relationships
Carita plans to spend three days making apple-plum jam. When she begins, she
has 35 apples and 80 plums.
She uses the same recipe for every batch, so the numbers of apples and plums
are always proportional.
On Monday, she uses 8 apples and 12 plums.
On Tuesday, she uses 12 apples and 18 plums.
Carita wants to make the largest batch she can on Wednesday, using the same
recipe.
