I need help understanding on how to solve the equation

96 - 4.5y - 3.2y = 5.6y + 42.80
We can simplify the (-4.5y - 3.2y)
96 - 7.7y = 5.6y + 42.80
We can add 7.7y to both sides
96 = 7.7y + 5.6y + 42.80
Simplify the right side
96 = 13.3y + 42.80
Subtract 42.80 from both sides
53.2 = 13.3y
Divide both sides by 13.3
4 = y
Done

Check:
96-4.5*4-3.2*4 = 65.2
5.6*4+42.80=65.2
