5x^2 + 2 + 4x^2 - 7 - 3x^2 - 5. now we can add and subtract the like terms. so we can add 5x^2 + 4x^2 - 3x^2 = 6x^2 and 2 - 7 - 5 = -10 so we have 6x^2 - 10.
