I have to analyze bales of clothes to assess the material composition (cotton, wool, silk...). The bales weigh 480kg and I want to know what is the representative sample since I cannot analyze all the entires bales. I have been considering using a sample size formula for finite population, but all of the examples that I have read are made for surveys, and I am not sure if the sample size formula for finite populations is applicable to my study. Does someone has a solution? :)
