slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

m = the slope and b = the y-intercept.

We know that the line passes through x-coordinate 1 and y-coordinate 1 and has a slope of 2

Let's plug our numbers into the slope-intercept form

1 = 2(1) + b

Simplify the right side

1 = 2 + b

Subtract 2 from both sides

-1 = b

The final y = 2x - 1
