How can you write 72+(8+19) to make it easier to add?

First add up the numbers in the parentheses.  8+19, take that answer plus 71. When doing large questions like this I prefer to do things like this.

             + 27
             
            
           Take the ones column, adding it up, 1 plus 7, then put that 8 down here like this:
                71
             + 27
             
                   8
Then add add the other two, 7 plus 2 is 9. So you would end up with something like this:
                71
             + 27
