What is the sign of 9(-0.5)

For a multiplication , law  sign state : if the two terms of multiplication are of the same sign, result is  positive.  Otherwise, it's negative

here  9 is  positive, and  -0.5  negative.  The two terms have  contrary signs, then the result will be  negative.
