“Write a linear equation that is perpendicular to 2x-5y=5 and passes through the point (2,-9). So first I made it into the Slope Intercept Form which would be -5y=-2x+5, then I divided everything by -5 (from the -5y) and got y=2/5-1.

After that I realized it was perpendicular (and this is where I got confused) I switched it to y=-5/2-1. (yeah I think it’s wrong)

Then I put it in the Point slope formula making it to be y-(-9)=-5/2(x-2). So that would be y+9=(-5/2)x+5.

So the product after doing the -9 from each side, would it be y=(-5/2)x-4?
