PLEASE ANSWER THIS ASAP - I HAVE A TEST SOON Is it possible to factor out a negative from a cube root expression, and if so why? Also, is it possible to factor out a negative from a square root expression? I know about imaginary numbers, and how i is equal to the sqrt of -1. For example, if you have the sqrt(-2), you could make it into sqrt(2)*i. However, what I'm trying to ask is, if you have, for example, 5xy^3\sqrt[3]{-2x}, could you make it into -5xy^3\sqrt[3]{2x}? And would it work for an even root (like a square root), as well.
