1) First find the number of buses

Equation:

total students ÷ 60 students per bus = number of buses taken

       340         ÷               60                 =     5 buses taken with 40 students left

2) Now find the number of cars taken

Equation:

students left ÷ 5 students per car = number of cars taken

        40        ÷                5               =         8 cars taken with 0 students left

So your answer is 8 cars and 5 buses.

to plot points   for x just start at the origin (middle) and go to the left however many times it say(if the number is a positive) if the number is a negative then go right however many times it says if it is 0 go nowhere

now keep you pencil there and go up however many times it says on y(if it is positive) if it is negative then go down however many times it says. if it says 0 go nowhere.
