Kara and Kevin are siblings and have decided to discuss
the idea of allowance with their parents since all of their
friends get allowance for doing chores. Kara is only in
elementary school, so she asks her mom if she can have
$1 more each day, starting with $3 on day 1. Kevin is in
high school and wants to see if he can trick his little
sister. Kevin asks for only $0.25 for the first day, but for
his mom to double the amount of money he gets every
day after that. This means on day 2 he will get $0.50, on
day 3 he will get $1.00, and so on. Kara and Kevin's
mom agree to the terms. Kara laughs at Kevin because
she thinks she will have way more money than him!
