For example, in a for the first section, I divided 4 into 5. Four only goes into five once equally, so the big number would be one. To reach five, just add one more to the numerator to get 1 1/4.

For the second section, just multiply the big number into the denominator, then add the numerator. For example, in a of the second section, I multiplied 2 times 2, giving me 4. The numerator is 1, so adding it to 4 gives me 5, making the answer 5/2. Notice how the denominator always stays the same.
