A recent study suggested that drinking certain liquids before bed and hearing certain background noise (or the lack thereof) while sleeping can have an overall effect on the quality of sleep someone gets. Participants in week one drank a cup of green tea before bed and had no background noise for one night. For the second night, they drank a cup of green tea and played soothing background sounds. For the third night, they drank a cup of green tea and had the TV/radio playing in the background. The process was repeated in week 2 with drinking a glass of warm milk before bed, and in week 3 with drinking a glass of water before bed. After each night, the participant rated their quality of sleep with 1 = very poor, 2 = poor, 3 = fair, 4 = good, 5 = very, and 6 = excellent. My question is: Which repeated measures ANOVA test should I run in SPSS to analyze this type of study - one-way, two-way, or three-way?
