Can someone please help me understand the purpose of the base of a logarithmic function? (50 Points) I watching the video called Graphing Logarithmic Functions by The Organic Chemistry Tutor, and at about 6:20 he says that any log of 1 always = 0.
I was confused about where the base went and assumed that it goes away with the logic of any log of 1 = 0, but then the other y ended up being log3 of(3), which = 1. Can someone please explain or show me how the base of a log impacts the answer when it's used?
