The question, and choose the best answer
the quotion, and choose the DUST
EXTENSIVE AND INTENSIVE PROPERTIES
CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
locument will
Physical properties can be extensive or intensive,
and many physical properties are measurable.
Mass and volume are extensive properties. Mass is
a measurement of the amount of matter an object
has. Volume is a measurement of how much space
a quantity of matter occupies. Density is an intensive
properly. It is a measurement of how much matter
is in a certain volume. The table lists examples of
extensive and intensive properties.
A chemical property is observed only when a chernical
change to matter occurs. Chemical change requires a
chemical reaction. In chemical reactions, the particles
of substances are rearranged to form new substances
In contrast, a physical change is a change that does not
result in a new substance being formed.
TYPES OF PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Extensive Properties
Intensive Properties"
Mass, volume, length
Color, taste, melting point,
boiling point, density, luster,
hardness
Properties that charge depending on sample size
Properties that do not change depending on sample size
CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL CHANGES
Material Change
Observation
Candle
Melted Solid candle became liquid wax
Burned Candle seemed to disappear.
Melted Solid silver became liquid silver
Silver Tarnished Silver developed a dark-colored
coating on it
Torn A large piece of paper became
Paper
smaller pieces
Burned Paper became ashes and smoke
4. Based on information from the passage and table,
which statement supports the conclusion that a
chemical reaction occurs when silver tarnishes?
3. Which property changes with sample size?
A hardness
B. melting point
C. length
D. taste
A. Solid silver can become liquid silver.
B. The dark coating is a new substance.
C. Silver can be melted or tarnished.
D. No new substances are formed.

(a) compute the maclaurin polynomial m2(x) for f(x) = cos x. (b) use the polynomial of part (a) to estimate cos π 12. (c) use a calculator to compute the error made using the estimate from part (b) for the value of cos π 12. remember that the error is defined to be the absolute value of the difference between the true value and the estimate.
