What is the total area, in square feet, of the figure? (If possible please explain how you got your answer)

This is going to be really long so sorry in advance :)). So i split the shape into two (so straight down).This therefore allows me to calculate the areas of both rectangles and add them together - (to give total area)

Area of A x(x^2-6)

=x^3-6x

Area of B

=(2x^3-5x^2-12x+14) (5x-14)

10x^4-28x^3-25^3-70x^2-60x^2+168x+70x-196

simplified: 10x^4-53^3-130x^2+238x-196

so add both areas to give total are:

=(x^3-6x) +(10x^4-53x^3-130x^2+238x-196)

=10x^4-52x^3-130x^2+232x-196
