- Assume that a smoker smokes 10 cigarettes a day
- There are 20 mg of tar in most cigarettes (1000 mg = 1 g)
- Approximately 25% of the tar is released in the form of smoke or is exhaled. The remaining 75% is absorbed through the smoker’s lungs.
