Read the passage and answer the question that follows. Teachers should really think about the amount of math homework they assign to their students. All types of learners hate homework. If a student already knows how to work the math, why do they need to practice it over and over? And, students who don’t “get it” in class end up practicing incorrectly over and over, leading to an extreme dislike for school. I think requiring just a few practice problems is more appropriate for students.

How could the author revise the hasty generalizations?

o Suggest that teachers do not know what is best for students.

o Use more emotional language, so the reader feels something strongly.

o Offer suggestions for helping students who struggle in math.

o Quote a friend who enjoys math and another friend who likes it less.
