When you simple you try and find the GFC(greatest common factor) for example say if I have a problem that’s 1/4 + 1/4 it would equal to 2/4 i would have to find the gfc that 4 and 2nhave in common. Even when you add subtract multiply or divde fraction most likely you have to simply so once we find the gfc of 2 and 4 we divide it but 2/4 and look this is the rule when simpling what ever you divide the top by you dived the bottom with.
