7x -y - 6 = 0 …….(1) and 14x+2y-16 = 0 ……(2)

(2) - 2×(1) gives 4y - 4 = 0 => y = 4/4 => y = 1.

Substituting this in (1) we get 7x - 1 - 6 = 0

=> 7x - 7 = 0 => x = 7/7 => x= 1

So x=1 and y=1
