1. 2x + 3y = 1,470. First minus 2x, then divide by 3 on both sides. 1,470 divided by 3 is 490. So it would be y = -2/3x + 490. The y-intercept is 490 and the slope is -2/3. 2. I'm using the equation y = -2/3x + 490. First make a point using the y-intercept, 490. So you would have to make a point at (0,490). After graphing that point I would then use the slope, -2/3, to make another point. So you would go down 2 and 3 to the right. Finally, draw a line through the points.
3. f(x) = -2/3x + 490. Each point on the graph represents how many sandwiches and wraps needs to be sold to make a profit of $1,470. Since the y-intercept is 490 that means that you could sell 0 sandwiches and 490 wraps while still making $1,470. Since the x-intercept is 735 that means that you could sell 735 sandwiches and 0 wraps while still making $1,470.
4. btw my brother helped me make the graph so that it would look more neat and organized.
I forgot to label the intercepts so i'm just going to put the ordered pair for the y- and x-intercepts. (0,490) is the y-intercept and (735,0) is the x-intercept.
5. The function equation would be 2x + 3y = 1,593. They are similar because they have the same slope. They are different because they have different y-intercepts and x-intercepts.
6. y = -2/3x + 300. Slope-intercept form is y = mx + b, where m is slope and b is the y-intercept. In the graph, we can see that it goes down 2, so -2 (It doesn't go down 1 because the line doesn't cross through an integer. Like the ordered pair shouldn't have any decimals but if you did go down 1 then you would have a decimal in the ordered pair). We can see that the line goes 3 to the right, so positive 3. Meaning the slope would be -2/3. The y-intercept is when x is 0. On the graph when x is 0, y is 300. So the y-intercept is 300. Now just put in the values for slope and y-intercept into the slope-intercept-form equation and you get y= -2/3x + 300.
