Sam and Ella were running in a race. Sam ran ⅞ of a mile and Ella ran 5/10 of a mile. At the end of the race they wanted to compare how far they ran. Ella said they could compare the fractions by comparing each fraction to ½. Show how Ella could compare 5/10 and ⅞ to ½ . Then explain who ran further and how you know.

The first one, i believe, would be correct. all the others have one thing in common, and that's that they have repeating numbers. in the second one, x and y have repeating 6's and 3's, and in the third, x and y have repeating 6's as well. in the last one, there are repeating 3's. the first one has no repeating numbers.
