It is known that, nationally, doctors working for HMOs average 13.5 years of experience in their specialties, with a standard deviation of 7.6 years. As the new executive director of an HMO in the tri-state area your job is to determine whether or not the doctors in your network have more experience than the national average. A random sample of 150 doctors from your HMO shows a mean of 10.9 years of experience.
