A;) The equations are already given. y = 2x depicts the revenue of the school, whilce y = 0.50x + 16 depicts the total cost of buying the carnations.

b.) The graph is shown in the attached figure. The orange line is for the cost, while the blue line is for the revenue. Basing on the graph, they would intersect at an estimate of x = 11 carnations.

c.) The graph makes sense  At fewer carnations, the cost is greater than the revenue. When the two lines intersect, that means that it has reached its breakeven point. This is the point where you have caught up with the cost. After the breakeven point, your profit will always be greater than your initial cost.

6x + 12 = -2x -20
6x + 2x = -20 - 12
8x = -32
