Use elimination to solve system of equations
5m-2p=24
3m+2p=24

5m-2p=24 (label equation 1)
3m+2p=24 (label equation 2)

equation 1 + equation 2--> 8m=24
                                         m=3 ( i divided by 8 to both sides)
sub m=3 into equation 1
5(3)-2p=24
15-2p=24
-2p=9 ( i subtracted 15 to both sides)
p=9/-2 ( i divided by -2 to both sides)
p=-9/2

therefore m=3 and p=-9/2

Do you need with the x value for the minimum? its always between the two intercepts for a parabola
