First you would have use the distributive property to make this an easier problem.So take 3 times k (if the variable has no number just add a one) and 3 times -6 to get the problem of 3k-18=15. Now you would add 18 to -18 and get 0 and do it on the 15. 15+18=33,now you have 3k=33.now you divide 3/3 and get 1 and divide 33 by 3 to get 11.
Answer is k=11
