Find a solution to the following system of equations

2x+2y=6

If you add the two equations together the xs cancel out leaving:

7y=14

y=2, using this y in 2x+2y=6 gives you:

2x+4=6

2x=2

x=1

so the solution to the system is the point (1,2)
