a biologist is comparing the growth of a population of flies per week to the number of flies an iguana will consume per week. he has devised an equation to solve for which day (x) the iguana would be able to eat the entire population. the equation is 3x = 2x + 1.

explain to the biologist how he can solve this on a graph using a system of equations.

Y=3ˣ and y=2x+1
one of them is the grouth of the flies and the other is how many the iguana can eat per week (I'm thinking the y=3ˣ is the population growth)
where x=number of weeks and y=number of flies

so he should graph y=3ˣ and y=2x+1 and see the solution wich will be the inersection point of the 2 equations

to graph y=3ˣ, graph the points (0,0) and (1,3) and (2,9) and (5,243) then connect the points in a curve

to graph y=2x+1, graph the points (0,1) and (2,4) then connect the points with a straight line
