Explain how to use the standard normal table to find the probability associated with the shaded area under the curve.

The standard normal table is used to read the area under the bell curve. Most z-tables are to read the area to the LEFT of Z=z as shown in the diagram below. Total area under the curve is one because total probability is always one.
