Explain how you can use estimation to place the decimal point in the quotient 42.56÷22

Estimation is a process by which we do not exactly do the operation but predicts through pre-known facts and methods in order to determine the required. In this item, we are to predict or estimate the place of the decimal point to the answer when we divide the 42.56, dividend, and 22, our divisor. 

We can say that 42 can be divided by 22 only once because twice of 22 is already 44. By this we can say that the decimal place will be after 1. There would only be one digit to the left side of the decimal point. 

If we are going to answer the division problem, we get an answer of 1.934545..
