If the line that passes through (5,-2) is parallel, then the slope will be the same, but 'b' aka the y-intercept will change. In order to do that you plug in the data point (5,-2) for x and y and solve for b. After you plug in the data point the equation would look like this:
-2 = 7(5) - b
After you solve for b, you would get b = 37. So the final equation would be y = 7x + 37.
