On a recent team quiz, the teacher asked the students to find the roots of a quadratic equation. One student, Tobias, is such a trickster, he thought it was funny to change the problem on Team 1's test. He made the quadratic equation look like this (5 pts): Team 1 was furious! "How can we solve this?" one team member exclaimed to Tobias. "There are two variables: an x and a c!" "That is true," said Tobias. "But with the three hints I'm going to give you, you can still do the problem." And he gave these three hints: i) There are two distinct roots, ii) (x – c) is a factor, and iii) c > 0. Help Team 1 out by using these clues to find the roots of the quadratic equation.
