forest fire. A team of geologists first study the base of the mountain by taking a hike around it which
covered a total of eight miles. The team then hiked directly to the peak of the mountain which was a total
of 8280 feet to study the damage the fire caused. They determined that approximately seventy-five percent
of the trees had been damaged in the fire. What was the total area (in square feet) of the trees damaged by
the fire? Round your solution to the nearest hundredth.
