Equation 2 turns into -2p - 6s = -106

2p + 4s = 76
-2p - 6s = -106

Combine alike terms

-2s = -30
s = 15

Use one of the original equation and plug “s” in.

p + 3(15) = 53
p + 45 = 53
p= 8
