The quality control manager at a concrete company knows that the ideal ratio of dry ingredients to make concrete with is 1 part cement to 2 parts sand to 3 parts gravel. The manager decides to test the quality of their manufacturing process by randomly selecting one batch that is being mixed and measuring how much of each ingredient is added to make the new batch. He finds that the batch contains 5 m3 of cement, 9 m3 of sand and 10 m3 of gravel. Determine whether the manager's sample is consistent with the ideal ratio using the χ2 value and a 0.05 level of significance. Choose which answer has the correct χ2 statistic with the appropriate interpretation.
