Set up an appropriate equation and solve. Data are accurate to two significant digits. Two gasoline distributors, A and B, are 222 mi apart on a certain interstate. A charges $2.90/gal and B charges $2.70/gal. Each charges 0.2¢gal per mile for delivery.
Where on the interstate is the cost to the customer the same?
Let d be the distance from distributor A. Write an equation in terms of d that can be used to find the distances from distributors A and B where the costs are equal.
Express all values in terms of cents.
O A. (290 +0.2)(222-d) = (270+ 0.2)d
O B. (290 +0.2)d = (270+ 0.2)(222-d)
O c. 290 +0.2d=270 +0.2(222-d)
OD. 290 +0.2(222-d) = 270 + 0.2d
