wheel. They know that John reaches the Maximum height of 11 m at 10 seconds and then reaches the minimum height of 1 m at 55 seconds.
a) What is the equation of the axis of the function and what does it represent in this situation?
b) What is the amplitude of the function and what does it represent in this situation?
c) What is the period of the function and what does it represent in this situation?
d) If John rode the Ferris wheel until he had gone around 6 times, determine the domain and range of the functions.
e) Write the equation of the sinusoidal function that models his height above the ground.
f) Determine his height above the ground at 78 s.
g) If the radius of the Ferris wheel remained the same but the axle of the wheel was 1 m higher, how would the sinusoidal function change? Write the new equation.
h) If the rotation of the Ferris wheel was faster, how would the equation change?
