Hey if the complex number, i = √(-1). and \sqrt{ - 1}  = {( - 1)}^{ \frac{1}{2} }
Since,
Does that mean that:
Please help me find my mistake​


{ ( -  1)}^{ \frac{1}{2} }  =   {( - 1)}^{ \frac{2}{4} }
{( - 1)}^{ \frac{2}{4} }  =  \sqrt[4]{( { - 1)}^{2} }  =  \sqrt[4]{1}  = 1
