Excise tax, also known as sin tax is a sales tax specifically levied on certain goods deemed harmful to society and individuals e. g. alcohol, tobacco, drugs, sugar, etc. In addition to VAT, excise tax is paid on all cigarettes and alcoholic drinks. This tax varies from item to item.
