In order to test average litter size for different breeds, a sample of 25 litter sizes was taken from Abyssinian Cats and a sample of 31 litter sizes was taken from Chinchilla Cats. Abyssinian Cats had a sample average of 3.5 kittens and Chinchilla Cats had a sample average 2.8 kittens. Further, Abyssinian Cats have a known standard deviation of 1.5 kittens and Chinchilla Cats have a known standard deviation of 1.9 kittens. Test to see if there is a statistically significant difference between the average litter sizes of these cat breeds using a 5% level of significance. Should you reject the null hypothesis that there is no difference between the mean litter sizes of the two cat breeds? Or is there not enough evidence to support that the mean litter sizes are different?
