a. Given that she swam at a rate of 2.1 miles per hour, what type of function can you use to model her swim?
Create a graph to model the situation.
b. Estimate the amount of time it took her to swim to the Florida Straits?
c. For half of the swim Nyad was pushed by a 1 mile per hour current and for the other half of the swim she
fought a 0.6 mile per hour current. Estimate the amount of time it took her to swim from Cuba to the Florida
Straits under these conditions. Explain your reasoning.
