Average yield of two rubber fields in an estate, F1 and F2 are respectively 900kg/ha and 1350 kg/ha. D2 tapping system is practiced in F1 while D3 system with stimulation is practiced in F2. Rest of the conditions including the clone and management practices are same in both fields. Based on the past records available at the estate office, tree to tree yield variability was 16 in D2 system while that of in D3 system with stimulation was 36. Note that yield figures have been estimated in Kilograms and annual basis. Moreover, estate records say that the stand is maintained at 450 trees/ha. Identify which tapping system would be most efficient? Use an appropriate statistical test to justify your answer.
