lindsey measures the length of 100 beetles and gets a mean of 2.56 inches with a standard deviation of 0.34 inches. She then realizes that her ruler was off and each measurement was 0.5 inches too long. Also, she decides it would have been better to measure in centimeters (2.54 cm = 1 in) because that is what scientists are supposed to do. If Lindsay takes each measurement and subtracts 0.5 inches and than multiplies by 2.54, what would the new mean and standard deviation be?
