1. A shop assistant sells goods to the value of $8000 during a certain week. If she is paid 3% commission on these sales, calculate the amount of commission earned. (2). A car salesman sells a car for $12 000. If his commission is 2%, find how much commission he earns for this sale.

(3). A representative is paid a monthly salary of $1200. In addition he is paid a commission of 2% on any sales that he makes. During a certain month he makes sales to the value of $16 000. Calculate (a) the amount of com- mission earned, (b) his gross salary for the month.
