A company recently announced that they have found a way to help college students complete a mathematics assessment test more quickly. The company said that using a specific tapping method for 10 minutes, before taking the assessment, would help students complete the test more quickly. A researcher wants to use a statistical test to decide if the tapping method is effective. The researcher has previous data from thousands of college students who took this test. The time it took these students to complete the test follows a normal distribution with mean μ=70 minutes and standard deviation σ=4 minutes. The researcher thinks the mean for the students who did 10 minutes of tapping before the exam will take less time. The researcher randomly selected 45 college students for testing purposes.
