30 POINTS!! Part 1

Juan and Julissa were waiting in line at the movie theater and decide to play a game. They have a bag of M&Ms which has 5 red and 6 green candies.

They decide each red would be worth 3 points, and each green would be worth 1 point.

Each person takes a turn picking 7 candies from the bag without looking and then determine their score. They return the candies to the bag after each person's turn.

For example, if Juan picked 3 red and 4 green, his score would be 3(3) + 4(1) = 9 + 4 = 13.

Play the game with them either using M&Ms or something similar.

Total points

Label the variables, then write and solve a system of equations that would give a total of 15 points using 7 M&Ms.

Using a total of 7 candies, complete the table below for the number of green candies and the total number of points when the number of red candies is 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Do the results in your table support your answer for item 2 above? Explain your answer.

Part 2

Design your own game based on a set of two parameters.

Describe how your game works and create a table for the outcomes.

Write a system of equations to determine what combination will give you a set number of points. Then solve the system.
